Who do you send donations to?

Our nonprofit partnerships are with The International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Our House, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Do you make alcohol-free hand sanitizer?

Haruhome is working to provide an effective and affordable hand sanitizer to consumers. The CDC guidance is clear that although non-alcohol and low alcohol hand sanitizers can reduce some microbes, to be effective against the largest number of microbes in general sanitizers should contain greater than 60% ethanol or 70% isopropanol as active ingredients.

What is the difference between Isopropyl and Ethynol alcohol hand sanitizers?

The primary difference is the natural evaporation rate between the two. Ethanol, the type of alcohol present in alcoholic beverages, typically evaporates more quickly and so can dry the skin more easily without added ingredients. Isopropyl, often used as an antiseptic, does not dehydrate living tissue as fast as Ethanol, and is therefore generally better for skin application. Both make effective hand sanitizers.

What is the difference between liquid vs gel hand sanitizer?

Generally, in a medical environment, alcohol based gel sanitizer is in higher compliance with hygiene protocols. However, the result of a study published in the Journal of Hospital Infection, which was conducted on 15 volunteers, concluded that there is no difference in antibacterial efficacy between gel and liquid.

What is the sufficient alcohol percentage for hand sanitizer?

From the CDC website: “CDC recommends using alcohol based hand rubs (ABHR) with greater than 60% ethanol or 70% isopropanol in healthcare settings.. The USP hand sanitizer toolkit formulas have final concentrations of 80% ethanol or 75% isopropyl alcohol and are aligned with World Health Organization (WHO) formulations.” The FDA’s recommended formula uses 80% ethanol or 75% isopropyl alcohol as outlined in their “Temporary Policy for Preparation of Certain Alcohol-Based Hand Sanitizer Products During the Public Health Emergency Guidance for Industry”

Do you plan to sell your hand sanitizer on Amazon?

We are currently in the process of listing our products on Amazon. They should be available there soon.

Do you plan to offer free shipping?

At this time we are unable to provide free shipping. Typically, free shipping is offered on higher purchase amounts, but honestly, we do not want to encourage people (outside of essential businesses) to buy more than they need. Instead, we try to keep our prices as low as possible.

Can I cancel or make changes to my order?

Typically, we will accept change requests before your order is shipped out of our facility. We ship daily, usually within 24 hours of your order being placed. Feel free to reach out to us if you need changes made to your order or to provide feedback about the product.

All of our products are paraben-free, sulfate free, non-toxic, and we never do animal testing. For plastic, we only use commonly recyclable plastic (HDPE) that is BPA free.
